Mid-Gotham earns the dubious title of being the least-damaged area of the city mostly because only because it houses Robinson Park, the Wayne Botanical Gardens, and the Reservoir. Coventry and the Upper East Side, however, are just as much a disaster as everywhere else, and the Reservoir is doing a less than stellar job at containing any water, drinkable or not.

The Southern end of Gotham had been a hub of activity before the Cataclysm, housing the Financial District, City Hall District, and the affluent Diamond and Fashion Districts, as well as historical Old Gotham. Chinatown and the Upper West Side dominated the western side of the island, while further south, Tricorner housed a large majority of Gotham's warehouses, industry, and overseas shipping operations. Now, however, those ambitious high-rises are shattered, the neighborhoods are gone, and the only bustle is people trying to get to the relief tents. ...Or out of the city altogether.

Founded by Amadeus Arkham, the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane - or, as it's more commonly known, simply Arkham Asylum - has been working to cure and assist the mentally unwell since the early 1900s. A top-notch institution, Arkham Asylum is located just outside of Gotham City, and some of it's most famous inhabitants include the likes of Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and the Joker.
